What a great long weekend we had. Josh had off Wednesday - Sunday (that explanation will come in another post) and we just enjoyed so much time together as a family. I won't go into all the details of each day, it wasn't too exciting, but having that many days together without work and scheduled plans, just doesn't happen in our lives too often. We were so glad to h
ave Thanksgiving Day with my family. With both of our families are here close by, Thanksgiving and Christmas are on a rotating basis. We will be with Josh's family for Christmas this year.Anyways, we had an early dinner and it was so great. We were at my parents house and everything was so yummy.
The boys left for the ASU vs USC game, (and so sorry we lost) and the girls went over to my sisters for dessert. We had the Black Friday Ads open and were making plans for our early day of shopping.
And boy do I mean early. Do any of you shop?? Holy cow each year these stores just keep opening earlier. My sister was in line at Kohls at 3:00 for the 4AM opening, I was in line at 4:00 for Toys R Us opening at 5AM and my mom got in line at Target for the 6AM opening. It was CRAZY!! My sister was out of Kohls super fast and waited with me at Toys R Us, and can I just say that, that was a JOKE!!! There were easy 600+ people in line before me and it was very slow moving. The concept was good, but they were only letting 50 people at a time into the store. So the store opened at 5AM and we didn't even get in until 6AM. However, we did get everything on our list. So that was the good news. My mom had already stocked up on DVD's at Target by the time we got there, and after we grabbed a few more things we were out of there in no time. It was 7AM and we were off to breakfast. What a morning already. We made a few more stops at Old Navy, Joanns, Kirklands, and Walmart and I think I was home by 10:00. Not too bad for a mornings work.
The rest of Friday, Saturday and Sunday were filled with movies, yard work, a little more shopping, and of course getting out the Christmas Decorations. It was a wonderful weekend. I am so grateful Josh had so many days off, I am grateful for my kids who were good all weekend and love being outside. I love that almost all of our families are hear and close by. We both have wonderful families and we are so grateful for them. We are blessed with a wonderful home and place to live, excellent health, good jobs, great friends and neighbors, and most of all to have the Gospel in our lives. Our lives are truly blessed beyond our own understanding and we are so grateful. This was definitely a weekend to be grateful for. We hope yours was too.

Looks grand.
I love that you took pictures. I had my camera and didn't ever take it out. I'm sure you're glad to have Josh around. It's always a nice weekend when there are no plans and you can just enjoy a lazy day.

Oh, I'm jealous. I wish I could be close to family. And I agree, the best part of ANY holiday is having "daddy" home!
You are such a nice wife to let Josh ditch you for the Devils! I am not so nice! You are a hard core shopper. Did you finish all your Christmas shopping?
