So many of you know that Kruz isn't really talking much. And that's fine, I'm not worried, he is only 21 months. He grunts a few words consistantly, and we all know what they mean because he says them at the appropriate time. For example "hum hum" means "thank you" he says "u ha" = yes and "uh uh" = no....but besides mom and dada, that is the extent of the actual words...until today. Well it was actually New Years Day. Josh was home and we were eating breakfast. Kruz wanted some banana and Josh was asking him to say "please". He gave his usual grunt for please, and that wasn't good enough for dad. So he must have asked him 5 times to say please and we finally got it. It was so cute to hear something, a word come out of his mouth. Later that day we got him to say "all done" and out of no where when I was changing his diaper he slapped his hand on his behind and said "bum". So we now have 3 new words in his vocabualary. I was able to get them on video this morning, so here is what they sound like. Man I love this boy.

Isn't it the best when they say something so out of the blue? It's so cute! Ava was eating an apple the other day and all the sudden said, "Um, delicious". IT was so cute. I love hearing babies learn to talk! I'm sure this is the beginning of a very talkative boy!
I long for the days when all they said was "uh hu" and grunt a little. Cant get Tessa to shut up, but I enjoy her rantings.
Loved your thankful list too.
Man, I can't get the video, but I love the story! Bum? Are you serious! What a funny little boy! And totally cute!
I love that he hit his bum in the video too!! I could hear the slap! What a cutie! Didn't he say Grandma that day too? I think I remember!
Cute, cute boy! I'm glad you are good with him not speaking cuz you know when they do...
*put my fingers in my ears and say "lalalalalalala"*
Awesome that his 3rd word was "bum". Such a boy. By the way, my boys usually end every song they sing (including church songs) with the word "poop". Get ready for that one, Shanen! The video is cute.
Kosty didn't talk much either, but as soon as he turned 2, he went crazy & now he doesnt stop! You're good for not worrying, I was so worried! Isnt it so fun to hear!!
The "bum" is too funny! I love when they learn to talk and their sweet little words. I also liked your list of "favorites", what a great idea.
Yea Kruz! Kind of funny and sad that he's learned quickly that bums get slapped. :) Just kidding, Shanen, you could never spank that sweet boy! Too cute for words. (pun intended)
That is too funny! Okay this is off the subject but I need any schooling you can give me on kindergarten registration for CTA. I can't believe Kinley is going to be in Kindergarten. I hear registration is the last two weeks in February. Any advice?
Lijah isn't talking either and I think they are close to the same age. He says way more than Lije though we did hear nana (banana) and up (cup) for the first time this week. Love the video.
So cute. It seems just yesterday he was so little! Will their be a trio performance at the next primary program?:)
