\'ta-lent\
1 -: a special often creative or artistic aptitude
2-: a person of talent or a group of persons of talent in a field or activity
Do you know what your talents are??? Isn't that one of the reasons we are here on this earth, to use our talents, to multiply our talents, to share our talents, and to make sure we are NOT wasting our talents.
Why is it sometimes we don't want to share our talents?? Or want people to know we have a passion for something that we are good at?? We shouldn't be embarrassed at these things, yet I know I sometimes am. I don't ever want someone to see my weaknesses, for the fear that it will be one of their strengths.
I am glad we are all different. I am glad we all have talents. I am glad that my strengths are someone else's weaknesses. And I am especially grateful that my weaknesses are someone elses strengths.
I was nominated a few weeks ago by Kylee to be the Team Mom for her softball team. hmmm I was none too pleased. My talent is more on the coaching side, NOT the side to MAKE THE TEAM BANNER!!! This all happened right before our 2 week Spring Break, so I knew I was on my own.
Our team was the Sun Devils. All right, easy to work with. I am a HUGE fan. But I had to remember we weren't ASU, only Sun Devils. So I thought about it for a couple of nights, and had decided what I wanted to do. (That is one of my talents...I can usually come up with creative ideas)
Here is where I DO NOT HAVE A TALENT. I printed out a "Sun" on the computer, traced it 11 times onto Gold Felt, plus 3 softballs for the coaches, and cut them all out.
I took them all over to my neighbor, gave her some permanent markers, some extra felt, a couple of pictures of what I had envisioned, and let her do the rest of the work. THIS IS HER TALENT!!!
She showed me the progress through out the week, I of course loved it. And on Friday night I went over to her house so we could finish everything up with the glue gun.
The only picture I have right now is with the kids walking with the banner during opening ceremonies on Saturday, but you can at least get the "just" of what it looks like. De Anna wrote all the names and kids #'s freehand, and drew out the pitchfork, and painted the lines black to make them stand out more.
She did an amazing job and I am grateful for her talent.

Goooo Devils!!!

HAPPY TO DO IT!
ONE OF THESE DAYS I MAY ADMIT THAT I AM KINDA~ SORTA ~ IN ~ A ~ ROUND ~ ABOUT ~ CRAZY ~ KIND ~ OF WAY CREATIVE.. WITH A SPLASH OF TALENT. JUST NOT TODAY!
I love it! You girls are endlessly talented in more ways than what I can count!
Way to go!! Your vision is perfect for a team banner! What great team work....I'm sure there is a lesson in there for your kids too! It looks great! Wish Kylee luck at her game tomorrow!
Great job! I'm glad I don't have that job. Kenzie is doing t-ball. We missed the parade...oops. Did Kylee play t-ball or softball last year? Fun times and I'm sure glad the games from now on are in the evening or early morning. The mid-day hot, hot sun was brutal!
AMEN, go DEVILS! Great work! Also, did you refinish your furniture you bought yet or did I miss that post?
Go Deanna!! Yeah, I'm with Jennie, post the furniture!
Look at you, you super mom. I have NEVER coached any of my kids teams, thus I have the title "unsuper mom". Loved your post about your neighborhood friends - what a blessing that must be for you and them.
