We headed up to the lake today with Mike across the street. Too bad Ali had to work and didn't get to join us. This is the first time the kids have ever been on a boat, so we were excited to take them. To be honest, I'm not even sure if Josh and I have been on a boat together since we have been married. Josh grew up on a boat, he has always talked about having one, and me, well I am a California girl. I grew up with the beach. I have been on boats, learned how to ski, but never really got to be very good since it wasn't something we did often. So today was going to be an adventure for sure.
We left at 6:15am and we were at the lake at about 7:30 I guess. It was all about us today.

After driving fast for awhile, swimming a little, we got Kylee in the water. She wanted to try the knee board first. So for safety reasons we didn't strap her in, and just thought she would lay on her stomach and hang on. BOY WERE WE WRONG!!! She lasted on her stomach for literally about 1 minute and she had pulled up her knees under her and was on the knee board the way any professional would have been. I was in total awww. She OWNED that lake and I often saw people riding by on their jet ski's looking at her. They never would have known that this was her FIRST time on the lake. She was AMAZING. I am so proud of her and just the plain all-around athletic ability she has. She can do ANYTHING she sets her mind to.

She wasn't even really ready to be done with her turn, but Kobi was anxious. I was a little bit nervous about Kobi. 1. She is such a light weight. I didn't think she would 2. be able to hold on very long, and 3. would be so sad that she couldn't do all the things Kylee was doing. Even thought there is more than 2 years difference in the girls, Kobi always tries to "keep up "with Kylee. She often does a pretty good job. She is a fast learner. So Mike starts out pretty slow with Kobi, she requests to go faster. So he speeds up a little bit and in NO TIME AT ALL, she is on her knees. WHAT?? Yep, cruisen around the lake on her knees. It was unbelievable.

I was up next, I'm sure it has been at least 11 or 12 years since I have been on a boat, and apparently people don't ski anymore, so I had to try my skills at wake boarding. I wasn't really nervous, a little concerned about my knee, but I think after about 4 tries, I knew I was getting up, I just needed to figure out a way to stay up. I did it, stayed up for awhile, even let go with one hand, and only face planted once. I would say that was successful.

Josh went next and popped right up. He maneuvered his way in and out of the wake and caught a little air. He was in Heaven out there. I think a boat might be in the future, way future plans.

We gave Kylee a shot at skiing, she was staying balanced, just couldn't quite pull herself all the way up. She didn't like it as much as the knee board.

We ended our day with the inner tube. This was a lot of fun and Kruz got to join in with this one. He had been such a good boy and waiting his turns to jump in the water. He had fun being in the tube. What a great day.
Thanks Mike. We had a blast. We will have to do it again.

Your girls are born athletes, eh? My neighbor growing up tried MANY times to get me up on skiis...never could do it. Way to go Kylee and Kobi!
We had fun teaching Kobi's class last Sunday...she's the greatest loud singer EVER!
What a great day! I'm glad you had such a great time and such success with the kids! What natural athletecism! Just like their parents!
Love it!
Fun! We too have decided boats rock! We were so worried when we went out this summer with the kids being over safe and going slow at first....that blew out the window real quick...and now we are planning for a boat next year. We will see how far those plans go since it is a debate for jet ski's as well.
What a perfect day to relax! The weather was amazing yesterday! Glad to see you got some wonderful family time....not that you won't have that all next week as well!
Geeze... I probably won't see you until after your vacation...so just in case...have a wonderful time at the beach!

Looks like a lot of fun. I admit I prefer the beach over the lake but my kids love them both. Great family time! I LOVE TO CHECK IN AND SEE WHAT YOU GUYS ARE UP TO

Way to go guys! Knee boarding was always my favorite too. Looks like everyone had a great time! Hope you had fun at the beach.
What a fun day, lake trips are the best. You've got some mad wakeboarding skills, my friend! It took me forever to finally get up and now once I'm up I'm too scared to do anything!
