NYC Day 2

5:00am came really early this Monday morning. Mom and Bryn had sent away for 6 Regis and Kelly tickets a long time ago. Nothing was ever returned as a response until the Tuesday before we left. Two confirmed seats were waiting. Hmmm we need 6. So we decided to wait in line for stand-by seats and see if we could get in. We were 12, 13, 14, and 15th in line. People that were in front of us said they typically take in about 10 people from the stand-by line. We decided to stick it out and see. Mom and Bryn went in as ticket holders, and we started asking people as they went in with tickets if they had any extra. Near the end of the line, a lady said she had two extra. So we took them. Nicole and I went in with her. We were crossing our fingers. Finally in the end, they had made it. They took actually 15 people in line and Jamie and Jennifer made it in. We didn't all get to sit together, but we made it. Jamie got the best pictures, so this is from her camera. I didn't know how to do "no flash." Hilary Swank was there, so that was fun, considering I don't really like Kelly. Anyways, it was fun to say we had done it. After it was over, we walked just down the street and were standing in front of the Manhattan Temple. (I don't know how to turn the pictures from the disk...so this is the best I've got) Closed of course because it was Monday, but still nice to see it. We walked by Trump Tower, The Plaza,(Kobi loves Eloise), FAO Schwartz, and had a super yummy lunch at Chop't. We all decided we needed to open up one of these stores in Gilbert. We had our first yummy cupcakes, and decided to do Top of the Rock. That was unbelievable. The views from the top of Rockefeller Center was amazing, and we got some great pictures.

I forget at what point of the day this happened, but we were standing on the corner and Bryn said, hey isn't that Zev? We turned around and it was, she said it a little louder, and they turned around. Zev and Justin from this seasons Amazing Race. Our family is big Amazing Race Fans, and Zev and Justin had just gotten an automatic elimination (even after finishing 1st)the Sunday before because they had lost one of their passports. They had been flown into NYC for an interview. Anyways, we were excited and we got our pictures with them.

We did a little more shopping, rode the HO HO because we were tired, and then got off when we say the M&M and Hershey Stores. We stayed there until we had dinner reservations at place called Becco.
What a yummy little restaurant this was. Fabulous food, all you can eat, and it was just what we needed before our 8:00 show of In the Heights. I think we all thought it was really good. it was entertaining, and a fun story line. Good show for the first night. Certainly tired when we were done, and hailed a cab back to the hotel. Wonderful, exhausting day.
