This past week Josh and I celebrated our anniversary, and I celebrated another birthday. Josh gave me a card on our anniversary that told me I was going to get a picture I had seen at Costco a few weeks ago. I was so excited, but I had to wait until the 18th to go get it. I couldn't wait.
My birthday was perfect. Josh and the kids made breakfast for me early, before we all leave the house at 7:45. We hardly ever sit down for breakfast together, including the weekends, so this was a special treat. Our day was normal, but I was invited over to a friends house for lunch. I am so grateful for those friends that remembered and wanted to celebrate with me.
The kids and I met Josh and Joe's BBQ for dinner and then we headed to Dairy Queen for dessert. I have been craving DQ for about a week now, I am always so sad there isn't one closer by. We ate our dessert in the car as we headed over to Kylee's 7:00 softball game.
It was the perfect day with my family, and I am so grateful for them.
So today was Friday and I had my whole morning planned out. Kristal was gonna stay here with the kids, even though I didn't have school today. I was gonna run errands, and get to Costco right when they opened. However, when I was about to leave Kobi was still sleeping. So I went to wake her up to say goodbye and she was warm/hot and didn't look good the second she sat up. She said her head, stomach and throat hurt and we raced to the bathroom.
You can guess what happened next....so I sent Kristal home and we laid on the couch. Here is where I am SOOO grateful we have parents that live close by. My parents and Josh's parents live very close, and they are ALWAYS willing to watch our kids last minute. I decided to call Josh's mom because the Costco I needed to go to was the Country Club/60 fwy. She said yes, and I took the kids there at 9:30.
I was at Costco at 10:00....long story there, but I walked out of there with my beautiful picture. We were able to hang it up last night right above our piano and I LOVE IT.
These pictures aren't the best, so you will just have to come over and see it.

Shan it looks great! Love the new one!
I was going to come back and comment on your last entry. I have been thinking about it since I read it and I am so glad things ended the way they did. I know it is small in comparission, but I thought the smae thing when Gwen broke her arm. It happened so quickly. I couldn't help but think how tradgedy happens the same way, then boom, life is different. Anyway, I can relate to the pit in your stomach as I'm sure any mother can. Can't wait to see you soon!
I knew it was your birthday! Sorry this is late, Happy Birthday! It sounds like you had a wonderful day! I love the picture, good work Josh!
Happy belated birthday! I saw your name on the April birthday list at church today and am sad I missed it. Your picture is amazing! I love the chunky frame, too.
It looks great I love that picture! Happy lat birthday. I seem to be the worst at not knowing when it is someones birthday. I'm glad you had a great day!
Happy Birthday! Since when did they start selling temple pictures at Costco?? That is so awesome, I've been eyeing the same style of picture at Deseret Book but they are just so pricey. I'm sure Costco is probably cheaper, I'll have to check it out. It's beautiful, what a great present!
I love love love the picture. We are so lucky we both were married in that beautiful Temple. I am so glad you had a good birthday. Sorry about the illness the kiddos here had it too while we were in Cali. I'll tell you about our adventure later.
Oh Shan, it looks great! I know you have been waiting to fill that spot for a long long time. I think definetly worth it. I love it!
Hey, Happy B-day/Anniversary! I love the temple picture above your piano...it looks gorgeous. I didn't know they sold those pictures at Costco! Also, I'm sorry you lost Kruz down the street! (I've lost Luke so many times that I'm getting used to it unfortunately). I'm so glad he is safe and didn't fall in the pond! I know you are not mad at your neighbor...it could've happened anywhere!
I wrote you a long, super long, comment and then it got deleted somehow! I am too lzy to rewrite it, so this will have to do.
Happy Birthday and anniversary. The picture is beautiful and your husband is a sweetheart!
What happened to Kruz the other day was really scary. We have had things happen to our kids that rattled us and forced us to change some things we do. Thank heavens all turned out well.
Happy Late Birthday Shanen. I have a small present for you. Did you know there is a new DQ at the new mall? I was so excited to discover that. Love the DQ blizzard.
Happy Birthday Shanen...what are you now, 25? ;) Love the temple (and the picture).
