Many of you have seen my closet before. It is pretty large in size. It is a big wrap around closet and Josh and I each have our own side. It is WAY bigger than our last house, and larger than I ever thought we would need. You know...the extra wasted space. So I got to thinking, and for the past few months I have been rearranging the shelves with my clothes and making some space for a project I had in mind.
Finally about 2 weeks ago, I came home one night from Enrichment and what do I find?? Josh in my side of the closet connecting wires for my outlet. Yes.. a working outlet in my closet. I had a card table I was going to put in there, set all my sewing stuff up on it, and be set to do a long list of items I have wanted to work on.
Dang it...the table just didn't fit right, I didn't like it, it was too big, and it had no shelves. We are in no shape to go by me a new table, so I began looking on Craigs List. I wasn't having very much luck, so on to plan B.
Well you see, I have this great friend, who has a great husband. They were over one night last week and I asked him if I could hire him one of these days to make me a desk. He loves projects like this, but always has plenty of his own. I was thinking down the road, maybe the next couple of months. He has plenty going on in his life right now and he certainly didn't need to help me right now. He said he would for sure do it, I just needed to draw him a diagram. That was easy, I already had it pictured in my head. I just needed to measure the size of it.
So on Tuesday he called and said "ok, I'm gonna do the desk on Thursday, do you have a diagram?" What?? I told him he didn't have to do it right now, I wasn't in a hurry, but Thursday was his 1/2 day at work and he wanted to.
So yes, Yesterday he went to Lowes, bought the material, ( Josh happened to get off early that day and went over to help him), and I think in about 3 hours, if that, he had made me a perfect fitting desk for my closet. I LOVE IT. It is PERFECT. I cannot believe he did that for me, and so quickly. I am so grateful.
So after some primer and a coat of paint, here is my new desk, inside my closet, and may I never have to take my sewing machine down again.

That's perfect! I love it and now you can get so many projects done. How fortunate to have good friends willing to help. Lucky you!
That will be perfect, I love that you never have to take it down and put it up again. Sometimes knowing I have to do that will talk me out of doing a project. What great friends!
WOW! That is awesome. I'll be waiting to see the projects now!
ohh, exciting! how nice for you to have your own custom desk. it looks perfect in there! share all your sewing projects, okay?
I can't believe he whipped that baby up in 3 hrs! It looks great and I am so jealous of your huge closet, we definately downsized in the closet department with this house and it stinks.
Oh, I remember hearing this conversation while "watching" the Suns game. Amazing! You're lucky! That's great...
Oh wow. I think I'm jealous. That guy is seriously talented! 3 hours?! I'm with Jamie. I would love to see your sewing projects.
