Camping...

...cabin style.
We had been planning this trip with the Marx's for awhile now. We were excited to get out of the heat and go to the cabin with some friends. We left Friday after everyone was done with work and we made it to the cabin at about 7:15. The cabin was beautiful and we were not "roughin it" at all.
There were rooms for each family to stay in, and a large room for the older kids to have a slumber party. We got all the kids to sleep, (they were cranky and tired) and we just sat and talked for awhile. We were tired, but waited until the Linford's arrived. Not long after we all headed to bed.
We had a rough night with Kruz, he was up and in bed with us from 3-4:30. We were exhausted in the morning when we got out of bed at 7:00. After a yummy breakfast of Crystals Micky Mouse pancakes, we loaded everyone up and went down to the lake to "fish." As adults we knew we wouldn't be successful, but we wanted the kids to try.
They had a blast with the fishing poles and throwing pine cones, and just enjoying being outside without dying of heat.

After lunch the afternoon was filled with playing outside, taking naps, and a little bit of reading.

Being outside was the best part. We had such great weather.
The evening crept up on us and after our yummy dinner we shipped the kids off to bed again. The adults sat around the game table for a few games of "Runaway Train" and "Phase 10." We stayed up past midnight and enjoyed our time playing.

Kruz did better that night but slept in our bed most of the night. We were up early and started cleaning and packing the car. We were the first to leave caus Josh had to get back for some church meetings, but we were home safe and sound at 11:00.

We are so grateful to Crystal and Michael for inviting us to their cabin. We had a great time and it was fun to get to know Erin and Ryan also.

Sounds like a heavenly vacation! Weird thing, Erin and Ryan Linford are my sister, Natalie, and her hubby's good friends! Are you in their ward??

Hey Shan! Sorry you got "kicked out" of my blog...that was the drawback with making it private! I can't find your email address, so send it to me at chanfamily at byu dot net and I'll get you invited! Smart thinking to have Natalie tell me!!

Sounds like a wonderful time! I love that Kylee loves basketball. As the daughter of a basketball coach/guru/former state champ (in like 1960) I grew up breathing and bleeding basketball until my accident in high school! Go Kylee!!
