The girls have been in school for 3 days now. I have been home with Kruz all by myself. I love this boy and we have been having fun. The first 2 days he would say "tyee, tobi at?" and would probably ask me 4-5 time a day where they were. I would always answer that they were at school. Today his question changed to this, "tyee, tobi schoo mom?" And I would answer "Yes, Kylee and Kobi are at school bud." "Oh alright." he would say.
Anyways, he has been a trooper. Monday morning I was watching 2 other kids. One is Kruz's age and they play hard. They love to be in the backyard and they are just exhausted when they come inside. I always make sure they have lots of water, but their little faces are so red. When their mom came to pick them up we sat and chatted for quite awhile. By the time they had left, it was long past lunchtime and past nap time so I decided to just let him stay awake until I picked up the girls from school, and then put him down for a late nap.
Well I was feeding him lunch, he wanted more grilled cheese, so I put another one on the stove, I went to do something down the hall, but only to return quickly to flip the grilled cheese, and this is what I found.
I thought "no way" it was just a fluke. So today we were eating lunch at 12:00, right after the kids I watch had left and I was gonna put him again in bed. I gave him his lunch, grilled cheese again, (he just discovered he liked it about a week ago.) He will say "cheese, bread, mom." Anyways, I gave him his food, came into my room and I was reading Twilight (the last chapter) and I thought it seemed kinda quiet. He hadn't yelled to me that he was done yet. So I got up, went back to the kitchen, and saw this.
I actually kinda panicked at first. It just couldn't be. Twice in three days. I don't know what the deal is, but the kid is obviously over worked. He was out cold and I took him into his room. He slept for the next 2 1/2 hours.

How funny! Dax has only done that once and I was in too much shock to pull out my camera! I always wondered how they managed to do that?!
Wow, sure sounds like a busy little house over there with lots of kids while your other ones are at school. I'm sure it's nice for Kruz to have some playmates.
I hear a growth spurt calling your name, Mom! How fun! All of my kids have been high chair sleepers. Nev was the funniest. He would fall asleep with food in both hands or a spoon still in his mouth. It just used to crack me up! He doesn't do that anymore... or at least the school hasn't told me so!
Mike and I had some good laughs over this post! Love it!
that reminds me of Kosty last month!
Did you love Twilight? Look at Kruz-passed out! Gwen does this almost every Sunday at dinner! It breaks my heart, but is so funny too!
Love it! Neither of my kids have done this yet. Such cute pictures. Poor kid is just tuckered out after playing hard all morning. Who could blame him for wanting to sleep as soon as he was sitting still?
That is great! I can't believe he's done that twice now! What a great thing naps are, I still can't believe how great of a sleeper her is....
That is too funny that it happened two days in a row. I'm glad you're enjoying life in retirement and spending some one on one time with Kruz (not to mention some relaxing quiet time when he naps :)
Shanen, I can't stop laughing...I love it when they "surprise" you with how tired they are...he's adorable!
Ok, when you read Breaking Dawn, I'd love to hear what you think about it...I really liked it! My body is still trying to recover from the lack of sleep, but so way worth it!
Awesome! I loved it when my kids did that...means it was sooo much easier to get them down for a nap! No arguing and fighting about it!
