So we were reading scriptures tonight with the kids before bed and we were reading in the big, old school, Book of Mormon series that my parents had when we were growing up as kids. Do you know what I am talking about??? They have big , colorful pictures and just explain the scriptures a little bit better. The girls have loved reading from these books, and we are trying to keep up with where we should be with the Sunday School lessons. So tonight we were reading in 2 Nephi at the part where Lehi is talking to all his children right before he dies. There is a big picture of them burying him in the side of a mountain. When we were done Kobi says, "Is that where we will get buried when we die?" And out of nowhere Kylee says, "No, we get buried in the ground, with a big stone on top of us that says RIP." What??? She has obviously never been to a funeral or cemetery before, and clearly has been watching too much tv. She had NO IDEA what RIP stood for, and after explaining it to her, she has a much better understanding of what happens when your body is layed to Rest In Peace. We had a good laugh about it, and were quickly reminded of how easily influnced kids are if we aren't careful with what we say, and with what we let them watch.

That's great! What a funny story. It never ceases to amaze me with what they can come up with. Already, Dylan says things and I have no idea where she gets it. By the way...how did you end up with dibs on those big blue books? =)
Ooo fun, I loved catching up on your posts, and I do love Chipotle. At least you are satisfied with just the chips & salsa, not me! Poor Kylee, & what a sweetie to ask if you thanked them. Did they run a Mono test? thats what Brayden had when he had a high fever & swollen glands. No other symptoms. And what a steal, all that for $40!!!! I'm with ya, if theres no photo, I move on, but so good that you didnt!
I love the things that kids say--too funny! That was fun catching up on your posts, I hope Kylee is feeling better, poor girl! Keep us posted! And I am super impressed with your steal of a deal, I can't wait to see the finished product! How did we survive without Craigslist?? And normally I am a huge Chipotle fan, but right now the thought of any food makes me want to throw up. I'm sick of being sick!
that is funny that she would say that but not know what it means. by the way, the day we left AZ mom and i were getting in the car and Gabriella was saying something silly to me and called me Sharpay. i thought for a minute and looked at mom and she said she had watched high school musical at your house. how funny is that? it totally made me laugh!
