Halloween 2008

I know I am so far behind in writing this,(so I am backdating it) but when you don't have a camera, your computer has been broken, and you need to borrow a camera cord to get the pictures downloaded it just takes awhile. I am grateful for my mom and Josh's mom for letting me borrow their camera and cord, and so that is why it just takes to long to get pictures up on the blog.

Halloween 2008
We always love carving pumpkins, the girls love to draw their own faces, and then Josh carves them in to the pumpkins. We didn't have pumpkins that lasted very long this year, I had the camera and was ready to take pictures, but it was a two day process and when I got around to taking the final product, they were already moldy and caving in. Oops BUT for us the best part of carving pumpkins are the seeds afterwards. We love baking pumpkin seeds.I was into simple this year, and I thought it would be fun to have the kids all be chefs. Everyone was all on board. YES, even Kobi. UNTIL.... I took out the costume box. Kobi saw a costume that Kylee was a few years ago and never looked back. So Kylee was a chef, Kruz was a chef, and Kobi was a Barbie Cowgirl. I thought they all looked pretty cute.
We spent Halloween at my parents for dinner. Ever since I can remember as a little girls my mom has made Chili on Halloween. Friends would always come over to our house for dinner before we would trick-or-treat. I love it that my mom lives close by and she still carries on that tradition. We went over there with all my sisters and their families that live here, and we had a quick dinner, get the kids in their costumes, some fun pictures, and then we were all off to our respective neighborhoods. Our street Mack Ave, is great. We decided to have a block party this year. We got a city permit and blocked of the street from 5pm-10pm. It was GREAT!!! We had a potluck, and the kids just played. We had lots of visitors, everyone thought it was a great idea. We did take the kids trick-or-treating still, but just being outside in the safety of our own street was nice. Remember between the 6 houses that came out from our end of the street, there are 17 kids. Lots of other neighbors came to join us, and we were so glad. We are doing it again next year, so anyone is welcome.

The night turned out great, and we are glad to be moving on to Thanksgiving.

For the life of me I couldn't figure out where I'd seen Kobi's costume before. Duh, it was Kylee's. It was so good to see all of you at mom and dad's. I love this tradition.
