I am so excited that for the first time ever, we have a successful garden. I know I have posted before about our radishes and are growing ABUNDANTLY, but we have more. We also planted carrots, onions, and lettuce. Our carrots and onions are finally starting to produce food for us, but were unsuccessful with our lettuce. But as luck would have it, by dad has a Farmers Market in his backyard. A couple of months ago he came over and helped Josh expand our garden. Our beginning 4 x 4 Box Garden became a 4 x 8 garden AND he transplanted 2 bunches of lettuce and 3 cabbages, and cilantro. We were worried if it would all take. But we were lucky that, that was the weekend that it rained a ton, and that was soo helpful. We diligently covered our garden when the weather got cold at night, and now we have a really pretty garden. We can go outside and cut off a leaf of lettuce anytime we want. We pull carrots and eat them in our salads, we pull radishes and eat them raw with salt on them. We cut off a green onion and put it on top of your food. It is all SO YUMMY!!! My kids LOVE it, and we can't wait to plant more.

I am jealous! We finally ended up just planting flowers in our "garden" for now, but this is getting me motivated again!
Congrats on your garden! We planted a garden but have had a tough time producing much in the past. Right now, though, we actually have quite a few radishes too and some broccoli that should be done soon. We had a dinner salad tonight which included our radishes!! Yum Yum! I'm starting to feel a little hope with an Arizona garden!
I am really impressed. We have tried in the past to grow lettuce and carrots and they did not grow very well. So great job! I am very excited for you.
Wow, that's great...and a little bit nutty to think about gardening since our high over the past week has been about 37 degrees! We can't wait for the real Spring to arrive so we can start the growin'! Enjoy your good eats! Oh, and do you get earwigs in your lettuce? Maybe that's just our area, but I've almost given up on growing lettuce because the earwigs get to them and the really freak me out! Does your dad have any ideas about that????
It looks great. I'm sure those vegetarian kids you're raising love it! I swear I've never seen kids eat so many different (and so many) veggies in all my life.
FABULOUS!!! I am starting get the itch to get my soil ready... but I'm not sure yet when I'll find the time! Hopefully soon. Great job!
So fun! What a great accomplishment to eat a salad fresh from your own garden! Now on to summer planting right? Squash, zucchinni? Yum yum!! Dad was telling me about a cool chart you guys had with all the things you can plant for the summer and when to start doing it. I think we need a copy!!
