my Baptism Day, When Jesus was baptized the very same way..."
That's what I remember thinking all day as Kylee had her very special day. I really still just can't believe she is 8 and decided to be baptized. It was a PERFECT Day. Ok, so it didn't come without minor challenges, but that is to be expected when you are trying to do something SO RIGHT and Satan does NOT want it to happen.
Bishop Guttery was incredibly sick and called early Saturday morning to let Josh know that he couldn't get out of bed. The problem was...that our newly called 2nd counselor Bro. Poulsen was out of town and the 1st counselor Bro. Hancock was at his sons basketball game (as the coach) and was having trouble finding someone there to replace him as coach. He said "If Garrett can get there, he will Preside and Conduct. If not, I will show up and stand in the back and you can conduct."
So we were just to get there and wait and see. I was a bit sad about that, but knew it would all work out. We got to the church, and we were the first baptism at 10:00. We got there at 9:30 like we were supposed to, and the Stake Baptism Rep wasn't there. The font wasn't filled, and no chairs were set up. The 1 problem...it takes 40 minutes to fill the font. No worries, we get the font started, get the chairs set up, take some pictures, get the table ready with her programs and sign in sheets, and walla. Brother Hancock shows up, I feel so bad he had to leave his sons game, but grateful Bishop didn't have to get out of bed, and Josh didn't have to conduct. But we were able to start at 10:15.
It was WONDERFUL. Everything about the next 45 minutes was more than perfect. We had all of our family there that was within the distance to be there and we had great friends come to watch Kylee become the next member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The Spirit was strong, the talks were perfect, the song the kids sang was beautiful, and the prayers were great. Everyone put so much effort into making this such a special day for Kylee and our family. We are so appreciative.
Josh did a great job. Kylee needed to get dunked 2x's to get her extra clean. =) Not really, but her knee came up because the water wasn't very full so that we could just begin. I got her all changed in the bathroom with her beautiful new dress and the we were able to hear the kids sing and get her confirmed with the Gift of the Holy Ghost. It was PREFECT!!!
We came back to our house and had a lunch with our family, and had a great rest of the afternoon. Thank you again for everyone that helped in ANY way to make the a special day. We really appreciate it and glad that you could all share it with us.

Congratulation Kylee on becoming a member of the church. I am sure you looked beautiful in your white dress.
There are no words, Shanen, for the gratitude I feel that you think Kylee's day was perfect. I'm so sorry that things were not ready for you.
I'm so happy for Kylee...she's just beautiful!
It was a great day Kylee and I'm glad we were a part of it. You looked beautiful in your dress and we're so proud of you.
We wish we could have been there. Boy, you sure have grown up! Your blessing day is still so clear in my mind, it's hard to believe 8 years have gone by. You are such a special, beautiful little girl! You have much to be proud of! Congratulations! We love you Kylee!
I CAN NOT EVEN TELL YOU HOW SAD I AM THAT WE WERE NOT HERE TO SEE THIS.
I KNOW HOW PROUD YOU BOTH ARE OF HER. SHE IS AN AMAZING LITTLE LADY!! IT WILL JUST BE SO FUN WATCHING ALL THESE LITTLE ONES GROW AND MATURE TOGETHER!
CONGRATULATIONS KYLEE. YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELF LITTLE LADY!!
WE LOVE YOU OVER HERE!!!
I can't believe that Kylee is 8. It seems just like yesterday we were having her baby shower! I am so glad that you guys had a perfect (almost) day and I can't wait for Madison's in June!
Oh, Shanen, what a wonderful day! My oldest will be baptized this year, too, so it is so fun to read about your first child being baptized!
I MUST know where you got your adorable white shirt! I've been looking for something like it forever! Do you mind sharing? :)
Congrats on a great milestone!
